Industry Funding Levy Yoyo

In good news for liquidators, ASIC has announced the estimated Industry Funding Levy for FY25 will be $29.50 per notifiable event (a reduction of more than 68% from last year’s $94.77).

Underlying this change is a 47% reduction in the total cost of regulating liquidators (estimated $4M) after a 50% rise in FY24. Why the costs of regulating a fairly constant number of registered liquidators varies so much from year to year remains a mystery as ASIC has not provided any explanation and is no required to do so.
