PJC baby steps

The Assistant Minister for Productivity, Competition, Charities and Treasury, the Hon Dr Andrew Leigh MP, addressed the AFSA Summit 2025 last week on insolvency and economic dynamism.

This appears to be the first time the Government has acknowledged the existence of the 2023 PJC Report and the observations made therein. As I listened intently to this acknowledgement, I eagerly anticipated a commitment to insolvency law reform, a timetable or a formal Government response to the Report. Alas, my hopes were dashed as the remarks ended with nothing more than acknowledging the problems.

At least we know the Government has read the report after 2 years waiting for a response.
